Situated on the outskirts of Carlisle is Kingston Court, a three-story light and modern home offering nursing care, residential care and dementia support.
The focus is on person-centred care and our friendly and approachable nursing and support teams work hard to create a lively and engaging atmosphere within the home. Eighty ensuite rooms can be furnished and personalised by each resident to ensure they feel at home, with ample space in which to meet with family and friends.
Our experienced cooks pride themselves on providing home cooked nutritious dishes, with a four week rolling menu. Alternative choices are available with each meal and we are able to cater for specialist diets. We offer: Nursing Care, Residential Care, Dementia Care and Respite Care
Our three-story light and modern home is a base for encouraging our residents to maintain their activities and hobbies and have a broad range of interests and skills to support where needed. We have a full programme of engaging events and activities, and we enjoy regular visits from local singers and entertainers.
We strive to provide an environment that feels personal to each resident, encouraging a healthy, safe and enriching lifestyle where individuals maintain their independence.
Our residents will be able to keep active and continue their individual interests as they would at home. Specialist Lifestyle Support workers are located within each home, planning in advance a full programme of engaging events and projects to promote social interaction while also targeting mental and physical stimulation for people living with us.
Our homes benefit from health and beauty treatments, baking, our dedicated male orientated “Men’s Sheds”, trips and many more. We try to engage with our local community as much as possible and have an open door policy for family and friends.
We recognise that mealtimes are a focal part of any day. Nutritional well-being is vital to maintaining a healthy mind and body. Our regularly reviewed menus with resident input, provide a well-balanced nutritious choice of food which also caters for people who require special diets. There is an alternative menu available just in case people would like a change. Drinks, snacks and nibbles including fruit are available through the day and the night.
We also welcome residents who like to bake, cook or help themselves when they would like. We can also cater for parties and celebrations for the people who live in our homes and their families and friends.
A Cheese and Wine event will be held at the home on Tuesday 19th September at 2.30pm. Lots of delicious cheese to sample along with a glass of fine wine to drink.
The local ice cream van will be visiting again on Friday 22nd September at 2 pm. Residents are getting excited and looking forward to choosing their favourite flavours.
We will be holding our ‘World’s Biggest Coffee Morning’ on Wednesday 27th September from 1.30pm onwards. Everyone can enjoy a cup of coffee and indulge in some delicious home make cakes and treats. All proceeds being donated to the MacMillan fund.
Kingston Court has a history of welcoming volunteers to the home to support the people who are cared for and live in the home. We are hugely grateful to all of our volunteers and we are proud to bring the community closer to the people living in the home through our volunteers.
