  • Life at Holly Lodge

    Life at Holly Lodge

Our home is located in the centre of the town of Shildon and provides a friendly environment – spacious and open, with communal areas for socialising and activities, and a warm atmosphere.

Family and friends are welcome to visit at any time and regularly spend time relaxing in the ground floor coffee shop or the secure garden leading on from it. We also benefit from access to our own minibus for some great activities throughout the week!

  • Lifestyle

Our residents will be able to keep active and continue their individual interests as they would at home. Specialist Lifestyle Support workers are located within each home, planning in advance a full programme of engaging events and projects to promote social interaction while also targeting mental and physical stimulation for people living with us.

Our homes benefit from health and beauty treatments, baking, our dedicated male orientated “Men’s Sheds”, trips and many more. We try to engage with our local community as much as possible and have an open door policy for family and friends.

  • Meals

We recognise that mealtimes are a focal part of any day. Nutritional well-being is vital to maintaining a healthy mind and body. Our regularly reviewed menus with resident input, provide a well-balanced nutritious choice of food which also caters for people who require special diets. There is an alternative menu available just in case people would like a change. Drinks, snacks and nibbles including fruit are available through the day and the night.

We also welcome residents who like to bake, cook or help themselves when they would like.  We can also cater for parties and celebrations for the people who live in our homes and their families and friends.

We believe in our residents continuing to enjoy the lifestyle they have always lead. Whilst offering the opportunity to experience new activities and develop new interests. Within the home we provide a wide range of group activities or for those who prefer, activities tailored to individual needs.

Throughout this month there are a variety of fun, engaging and interesting events happening within the home. From chair-based exercise classes through to arts and craft sessions, and our favourite singers entertaining us – it promises to be an exciting month ahead.

  • Volunteer

Holly Lodge has a history of welcoming volunteers to the home to support the people who are cared for and live in the home. We are hugely grateful to all of our volunteers and we are proud to bring the community closer to the people living in the home through our volunteers.
