  • Life at Briardene

    Life at Briardene

We aim to make life at Briardene as enriching as possible. Our team of qualified nursing staff and carers are trained to the highest standards where we aim to provide a warm and inviting environment in which to relax and enjoy a healthy and enriching lifestyle. We are located to the west of Newcastle upon Tyne, rooms are modern and bright which the residents decorate to their own taste.

Briardene is large and airy with 59 nicely decorated and furbished bedrooms which we encourage residents to personalise to make their own.  We also have a varied range of excellent communal spaces having benefit from a comprehensive refurbishment.

  • Lifestyle

Our residents will be able to keep active and continue their individual interests as they would at home. Specialist Lifestyle Support workers are located within each home, planning in advance a full programme of engaging events and projects to promote social interaction while also targeting mental and physical stimulation for people living with us.

Our homes benefit from health and beauty treatments, baking, our dedicated male orientated “Men’s Sheds”, trips and many more. We try to engage with our local community as much as possible and have an open door policy for family and friends.

  • Meals

We recognise that mealtimes are a focal part of any day. Nutritional well-being is vital to maintaining a healthy mind and body. Our regularly reviewed menus with resident input, provide a well-balanced nutritious choice of food which also caters for people who require special diets. There is an alternative menu available just in case people would like a change. Drinks, snacks and nibbles including fruit are available through the day and the night.

We also welcome residents who like to bake, cook or help themselves when they would like.  We can also cater for parties and celebrations for the people who live in our homes and their families and friends.
