Testimonials

  • “After my first week in respite care, I applied to be a permanent resident as I realised that home attendance couldn't match the services provided by the home”

  • “Residents are treated as important individuals at all times. The staff are cheerful, accommodating and always appear prepared to go the "extra mile" to ensure all who enter the premises are happy, cared for and made to feel that they matter.”

  • “Gran is treated like part of a large family. The staff always tell her this is your home.”

  • “It is a really nice home, clean, staff are really friendly and very attentive towards all the residents. The food always looks good and there are plenty of staff. Also, there is always some kind of activity going on for the residents ie. singers, animals visiting the home which everyone seems to love. It's a pleasure to visit this home.”

  • “My late mother-in-law was resident here for 2 years so when looking for care for my Mother didn't need to look further. The staff are very friendly and helpful, the nurses are excellent and the management are always ready to answer any questions and deal with any worries that you may have. I know my mum is well cared for.”

  • “Briardene is an ideal care home for my Mother-in-law, it is friendly, helpful and the staff have helped my wife cope with the situation of her Mother being in a home. We can talk with the staff if we have any concerns and they always put our minds at rest.”

  • “My time in Briardene Care Home has been some of the best times of my recent years. The compassion shown by the staff and management are beyond belief, from strangers as they were then- but are now true friends. The staff and carers are superb absolutely no complaints whatsoever. I would advise anyone seeking a care home to look no further than here.”

  • “Amazing, very friendly atmosphere, staff all fantastic they all work so very hard for the residents, nothing is too much trouble very clean decorated to a very high standard. I would highly recommend it to anyone who wishes to have a loved one in residential care.”

  • "I'm so happy to know that my Mum is happy and well cared for. I'm so glad we chose Derwent Care Home and would recommend it to anyone looking for a place for an elderly relative. I took Mum out on Sunday and when we returned she told the carers 'it's lovely to be back'!"

  • "I find the staff cheerful and helpful. We speak to each other as friends and therefore have no problems in discussing my Sister and her welfare."

  • "Care staff were a visible presence and a thank you to the care taker who went out of his way to provide a TV. Overall a very pleasant stay and he will be happy to return."

  • "Though Mum is in the late stages of dementia and is not able to say very many words, they manage to communicate well with her, understand her sense of humour (which is amazingly still intact) and make her laugh and smile. They seem to be patient and kind in the way they look after her various needs. I'm very grateful for the affection and consideration they show as I know their work is both physically and mentally demanding. Despite often meeting resistance from Mum (as she doesn't like to be moved, though it is necessary), they manage to cajole and soothe her into cooperating. The staff are also very considerate towards relatives, making them feel welcome, assisting them and taking time to discuss aspects of care. Just wanted to say a huge thank you to them for making a difficult time more bearable."
