In Derek's Own Words

Derek lives in one of our care homes and we asked him if he would not mind providing us with a few words about living with us.  This is what he had to say…

After my first week in respite care, I applied to be a permanent resident as I realised that home attendance couldn’t match the services provided by the home. Of course, I had my concerns and worries about leaving my home but I quickly realised that it was the right decision for me.

“The staff are so kind and caring and I know that I am well looked after and provided for. My medication is monitored, my room is comfortable and homely and there are a wide range of organised activities that I regularly take part in.”

I have made many friends in the home and I have peace of mind in knowing that I can maintain my independence but still have help close at hand if I need it.
