  • Life at Abbeyvale

    Life at Abbeyvale

Situated in a close and familiar community with easy access to the main high street and the shops and amenities this offers. Welfare Park is nearby and residents take regular excursions to the outdoor space, which hosts bowls, football and cricket matches.

We offer 30 large and spacious ensuite bedrooms all decorated and furnished to a high standard with residents encouraged to personalise the rooms to make them their home.

There is a secure garden at the back of the home which is enthusiastically tended, and a popular outdoor space with plenty of opportunity for green thumbed residents.

  • Lifestyle

Our residents will be able to keep active and continue their individual interests as they would at home. Specialist Lifestyle Support workers are located within each home, planning in advance a full programme of engaging events and projects to promote social interaction while also targeting mental and physical stimulation for people living with us.

Our homes benefit from health and beauty treatments, baking, our dedicated male orientated “Men’s Sheds”, trips and many more. We try to engage with our local community as much as possible and have an open door policy for family and friends.

  • Meals

We recognise that mealtimes are a focal part of any day. Nutritional well-being is vital to maintaining a healthy mind and body. Our regularly reviewed menus with resident input, provide a well-balanced nutritious choice of food which also caters for people who require special diets. There is an alternative menu available just in case people would like a change. Drinks, snacks and nibbles including fruit are available through the day and the night.

We also welcome residents who like to bake, cook or help themselves when they would like.  We can also cater for parties and celebrations for the people who live in our homes and their families and friends.

We will be holding our ‘Big’ Movie Night on Friday 15th September at 6:00 pm and residents will be voting on their preferred film. They will also enjoy a range of drinks and snacks, such as popcorn, nachos, sweets, candy floss throughout!

Our annual Harvest Festival will be held on Friday 22nd September in the afternoon with a range of fresh produce being shown. All kindly donated by staff and family members and we have a resident who grows his own fruit and veg in our garden. Hampers will be made up and raffled on to members of the public. We will also be giving them to the elderly residents living in Primrose Court nearby.

  • Volunteer

Abbeyvale has a history of welcoming volunteers to the home to support the people who are cared for and live in the home.  We are hugely grateful to all of our volunteers and we are proud to bring the community closer to the people living in the home through our volunteers.

If you are interested in being a volunteer at Abbeyvale or any of our homes, please get in touch through the Contact Us form on this website.
