Close to the local amenities of the village, our dedicated care professionals focus on providing a warm, friendly and homely environment.
Derwent specialises in Residential Care, Dementia Care and Respite Care.
Our residents will be able to keep active and continue their individual interests as they would at home. Specialist Lifestyle Support workers are located within each home, planning in advance a full programme of engaging events and projects to promote social interaction while also targeting mental and physical stimulation for people living with us.
Our homes benefit from health and beauty treatments, baking, our dedicated male orientated “Men’s Sheds”, trips and many more. We try to engage with our local community as much as possible and have an open door policy for family and friends.
We recognise that mealtimes are a focal part of any day. Nutritional well-being is vital to maintaining a healthy mind and body. Our regularly reviewed menus with resident input, provide a well-balanced nutritious choice of food which also caters for people who require special diets. There is an alternative menu available just in case people would like a change. Drinks, snacks and nibbles including fruit are available through the day and the night.
We also welcome residents who like to bake, cook or help themselves when they would like. We can also cater for parties and celebrations for the people who live in our homes and their families and friends.
We have the talented Michaela Marshall here on 9th March at 2 pm who will be singing fabulous 50’s songs throughout the afternoon. Family and friends are very welcome.
On 15th March at 2 pm we have a group of talented individuals here playing Ukuleles and singing folk music. Please come along for an enjoyable afternoon.
It will be our Easter Coffee Morning on 27th March at 11 am where there will be delicious home made cake available, along with tea and coffee. We will be holding our Easter Raffle with prizes to be won. Please come along and join us for a natter, along with a lovely cup of coffee and piece of cake.
Derwent welcomes volunteers to the home to support the people who are cared for and live in the home. We are hugely grateful to all of our volunteers and we are proud to bring the community closer to the people living in the home through our network of hard working volunteers. If you are interested in being a volunteer at Derwent or any of our homes, please get in touch through the Contact Us form on this website.
