Nestled between two churches in a rural setting in the picturesque Derwent Valley, Derwent Care Home provides a warm and nurturing environment in which to live with assisted support.
The modern and spacious home, located over three floors, has forty five purpose built and attractively decorated ensuite bedrooms. Each floor has its own dining area and lounge spaces where residents can choose to relax. Residents and their visitors also benefit from a bright and uplifting conservatory, leading onto a secure balcony, with beautiful views over the valley. We offer: Residential Care, Dementia Care and Respite Care.

Close to the local amenities of the village, our dedicated care professionals focus on providing a warm, friendly and homely environment.
Derwent specialises in Residential Care, Dementia Care and Respite Care.
Our residents will be able to keep active and continue their individual interests as they would at home. Specialist Lifestyle Support workers are located within each home, planning in advance a full programme of engaging events and projects to promote social interaction while also targeting mental and physical stimulation for people living with us.
Our homes benefit from health and beauty treatments, baking, our dedicated male orientated “Men’s Sheds”, trips and many more. We try to engage with our local community as much as possible and have an open door policy for family and friends.
We recognise that mealtimes are a focal part of any day. Nutritional well-being is vital to maintaining a healthy mind and body. Our regularly reviewed menus with resident input, provide a well-balanced nutritious choice of food which also caters for people who require special diets. There is an alternative menu available just in case people would like a change. Drinks, snacks and nibbles including fruit are available through the day and the night.
We also welcome residents who like to bake, cook or help themselves when they would like. We can also cater for parties and celebrations for the people who live in our homes and their families and friends.
Kev Mack will be joining us again on 31st October between 2.00-4.00pm to entertain and sing your favourite songs. Everyone is invited to attend – you can even request your favourite tune!
On 9th November at 6pm residents will be sampling delicious cheese and having a little tipple at our Cheese and Wine Party. We will be playing a selection of board games but obviously no gambling.
We will be having a good old ‘sing-a-long’ on 21st November at 2pm as we have ‘Just Us’, a local Ukulele group, here entertaining residents and everyone is welcome to come along.
Derwent welcomes volunteers to the home to support the people who are cared for and live in the home. We are hugely grateful to all of our volunteers and we are proud to bring the community closer to the people living in the home through our network of hard working volunteers. If you are interested in being a volunteer at Derwent or any of our homes, please get in touch through the Contact Us form on this website.
